Awesome diner, owner was super nice and Terri our waitress was super nice too. Need more bright spots like that in Middletown

Perfect diner and comfort food. Accommodations were easily accepted for changes to meal. Service was outstanding. Diner was clean. Prices were appropriate. Portions were large. All extras were given plentiful. Everyone was pleasant. Bathroom is very small but clean. Excellent for family dining.

I’ve been here a few times. I don’t think the food is that great. I’ve gotten the chicken deluxe and the panini with chicken tenders. The chicken deluxe had hardly any flavor. Also the chicken tenders are not very crispy and were pretty bland.. It was also strange that the panini was in a roll, instead of flat bread like a panini usually is. Also they have a huge amount of health violations. I think they had the most violations in Orange County. Don’t know how they’re still open honestly. Would avoid if you’re careful about that kinda stuff.

This was not my first visit to this diner and it definitely wasn't the last either. The food here is always amazing and the prices are just right. The staff is very friendly and the service was quick. The time it took them to prepare the food for my party of 3 was even super quick.

The food was not as expected to be. Bad service. Although the ladies were really nice the food was the problem. :)

Gem of a local diner! Great food quality and selection. Prices are reasonable and are in-line with other diners I have visited. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Awesome selection of desserts that will make your mouth water! Easy access with ample parking. Located just minutes off of I84 exit 3 and Dolson Avenue in Middletown. RECOMMENDED! 😎

Food was sub par. French onion soup is not yellow. And use a slice of toasted baguette in it instead of the stale tiny croutons before topping it with the cheese.

I love diners. This is a pretty standard American diner. They've got huge servings, I'm always taking leftovers home. My favorite is the matzo ball soup, but I get that everywhere that serves it. Dinner specials are pretty good. Dessert servings are huge. They always have fresh and yummy cakes. Bathrooms are decent. Waitstaff are dolls. Very sweet. During late hours, menu is limited.Good coffee. Try the ribs. Tasty. Avoid the gyro, and moussaka. I wasn't crazy about it.

The food is absolutely amazing!! We had the prime rib special...it was an inch thick, served just as we asked with potatoe, soup or salad and jello or pudding...there was so much food we took home enough for another meal...very highly recommend the Colonial Diner!!

My wife and I are from Texas. We found this wonderful place to eat. Great tasting food, good size portions and a friendly staff. A must have experience for travelers.

One of our favorite diners to go to on date night.

Had the eggplant Parm and it was really good. Their specials are ten dollars and include a salad or soup, and a dessert. Great deal for that price. Only issue I had is that they had no wifi.

Our waitress Carmen was AMAZING! she was the ONLY waitress on for the night of the Tim McGraw concert! There were at least 15 or more tables & she did an excellent job!! Continuously pleasant & was quick with service to everyone! Could not believe how she did it all by herself so efficiently w/friendliness & professionalism. And kudos to the chef for keeping up with the orders.

Food was great, service was great, menu had a lot of great options. Was inexpensive and the portion sizes were plenty. Couldn't quite finish it all even having skipped breakfast. Was recommended by a local and did not disappoint. Went out of my way to try it and I'd do it again. Also, the view from my booth was amazing!

The food here is pretty great, their service is pretty speedy, and the prices are decent. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to eat with friends and/or family. As for the service, the waiters and waitresses that I have had are all personable, friendly, and really great at doing their jobs and then some.

Been coming here for years not a bad place just not fond of there sweet potatoe fries anymore they make them different I rather the old ways

Great classic diner. Great food and service. I love diners and this one rates high on my list. Also wanted to mention that the restaurant was clean and looked like recent remodeling - like new. This includes the table chairs, and booths. Kids were happy with their kids meal which included jello or ice cream. I dont live in the area but I'll remember to stop there if I'm in the area.

I always enjoy eating here. They have gluten free bread and wraps. Their milkshakes are good and the staff is always friendly. It is usually quite and is a relaxing place to eat.

Oh my gosh. We love this place. Fast friendly service. Great food. Large portions. Spacious and clean. Good prices. This is a hidden treasure for travelers. We will come back each time we come to Middletown.

Last visit wasn't good. Food order was wrong, took along time to get, wait staff wasn't very pleasant. Previous visits were always great.

Good solid food for a cheap price

Typical good diner style food. Nothing fancy which is just fine by me.

My experience was not the greatest. My burger had to be done over. I asked for a medium well and I received an extremely well/burnt burger. I asked for another and it was a better burger still well done though. Anyway, the fried scallops were chewy and no good. Otherwise, everyone else seemed to be okay with their food. I love diners, however, I will visit a different one the next time I visit.

Maybe it's just because I am a city gal, but when you order a cheese omelette with bacon and the bacon is hard as a rock, and the cheese is not actually cheddar but a shredded mix that is not melted it gives you pause. Not to mention you ask for water with lemon and you are handed lemons that are visible rotten I went to the nearest Starbucks for some yogurt.
